4ft Denver Wooden Bed

Beds come in a range of traditional sizes. These are single bed, double bed and king size bed. One increasing popular, but less traditional sized bed, is the 4ft bed.

4ft beds are growing in popularity due to the size constraints of the modern house. Many new build houses are comprising on room size in order to pack the maximum amount of living space into the smallest area.

Only 20 years ago a typical 4 bedroom house was 1,500 square feet. Today, 1,200 square  feet is the norm. This loss of floor space means that what is referred to as a double bedroom would have little left over room from placing a traditional 4ft 6 inches double bed. A 4ft wide small double bed can accommodate to normal sized adults and can serve as additional short-term or emergency sleeping arrangement.
